Paris {19th}: Buttes-Chaumont

Nov 15, 2013

Views to Montmartre

Whether for summer picnics, autumn strolls, outdoor activities, family time or just simply for the views, this park in the 19th arrondissement of Paris is the place to be. Parc des Buttes Chaumont is a relatively large park with bunch of distinct features that sets it apart from other Parisian parks - hillside location with views over the city, bridges, artificial lake and waterfall, restaurants, theater for kids and even a temple on top of a cliff. It’s really not surprising that the park gets rather crowded during summer weekends and believe it or not… when it snows!  If you search online, you may come across some documentation of it turning into some sort of ridiculous ski center as soon as there’s enough snow on the ground…

But regardless of season, this park is always welcoming you with its unique charm. Also, the neighborhood around it has some pretty cool and interesting places to check out, such as La Villette Canal St.Martin or Belleville- all of which represent more of alternative and bohemian Paris.

Here’s couple of photos from our gloomy autumn day stroll...
